Which countries are buying gold, and what else moves the price?

Central banks report gold reserves in tonnes. Makro tracks the large holders and recent buyers, including the context Indian investors ask about for RBI and China. Next to that it shows COMEX warehouse stocks, London vault holdings, the dollar index, US yields, USD/INR, and the gold-silver ratio. Those are the inputs that move MCX even when no Indian headline changed.

Reserves, vaults, and the dollar are different clocks

Reserve data moves slowly, often monthly. COMEX warehouse stocks are a daily inventory print. The dollar, yields, and USD/INR move all session. Makro keeps them on one page so a reserve headline is not confused with today's futures move.

The gold-silver ratio is ounces of silver per ounce of gold. A high ratio means silver is cheap relative to gold by that measure. It is a relative-value gauge, not a timing signal by itself.

Questions

Does India publish RBI gold reserves here?

Makro includes central-bank reserve holdings so you can see India in the same table as other large holders. Official reserve totals update when the source updates. They are not a live trading price.

What is COMEX warehouse stock?

It is gold and silver registered in CME warehouses, plus delivery activity. A change in stocks is an inventory fact. It is not the same as the futures price.

Why does USD/INR matter for the Indian gold rate?

MCX gold is the dollar gold price translated into rupees, plus the local premium. If the rupee weakens, the rupee gold rate can rise while COMEX is unchanged.
