Where is gold cheaper than the market rate in India?
A gold deal is a coin or bar whose price per pure gram is below today's 24K reference rate. Makro ranks listings from Indian stores by that pure-gram rate, not by the sticker price. A heavier coin can look expensive and still be the cheaper rate per gram of pure gold.
How the comparison works
Each listing is reduced to a net rate per pure gram after the seller's price and any coupon the catalog already includes. That rate is compared with a 24K reference for the day. The page shows how far below or above that reference the listing sits.
The catalog is refreshed every 4 hours, and only when a full fetch succeeds. A failed refresh keeps the previous list. Opening a deal takes you to the store's own page. Makro does not add an affiliate link.
Questions
Why compare gold per pure gram instead of per coin?
A 2 gram coin and an 8 gram coin are not comparable by sticker price. Purity also differs. Rate per pure gram puts 22K and 24K listings on one scale, then the page shows that rate against the 24K reference.
Does a lower rate include making charges?
The rate uses the price you pay on that listing, including the charges already in the store price. It is not the MCX futures price. MCX is the exchange benchmark. Gold Deals is the retail price of a specific coin or bar.
How fresh are the gold deals?
The list is replaced every 4 hours when the source returns a complete catalog. If a fetch fails, the last good list stays up so the page does not go empty.
